Exchange Between Schools and the Financial Sector

For more than 20 years, the Bankenverband Mitte has been bringing together teachers from across Germany with experts from financial education and practice. Under the title “Finanzbildung Kompakt”, a compact and practice-oriented seminar for teachers takes place each year in Frankfurt – free of charge and in cooperation with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Over the course of one and a half days, the seminar provides relevant financial knowledge for economics education and creates a platform for exchange, networking, and new impulses for classroom teaching.

A Premiere at ING Deutschland

This year featured a special innovation: for the first time, the opening evening took place at one of our member banks – at the premises of ING Deutschland.
Our sincere thanks go to Mariana Ziemer and Doreen Zöllner for their excellent organization and warm hospitality.

The evening’s content was kicked off by Franziska Marie Biehl (ING Deutschland) with an engaging and practice-oriented economic outlook on the current economic situation and key trends. Her presentation offered numerous points of connection for making complex economic topics accessible and tangible in the classroom.

Professional Exchange at the Frankfurt School

The main seminar day traditionally took place at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
Another highlight was the presentation by Clemens Werner (Deutsche Bundesbank), who provided insightful perspectives on operational monetary policy and impressively demonstrated how theory and practice are closely intertwined.

In addition to the expert lectures, the seminar once again offered numerous opportunities for exchange – on teaching methods, educational materials, and current topics from the financial world.

Dialogue Between Schools and the Financial Sector

For two decades, “Finanzbildung Kompakt” has stood for the successful bridge between education and financial practice. The seminar gives teachers the opportunity to make complex topics both understandable and engaging – thereby contributing to the long-term strengthening of economic education in Germany.
