We want to strengthen the dialogue between the financial sector, business, politics and society.
Sarah Schmidtke, Manager Bankenverband Mitte

Bankenverband Mitte e. V., based in Frankfurt am Main, represents the interests of around 100 private banks with almost 40,000 employees in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. We are focused on expanding and strengthening Frankfurt as a financial centre.

As an innovative network platform, we want to connect politics, banks and society and thereby promote the development of a sustainable financial landscape. In addition to strengthening the financial centre, we focus on financial education, innovation and sustainability.

We have been committed to financial education for over 20 years. In cooperation with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, we organise training programmes for teachers. Additionally, we support financial science and research, honour outstanding academic achievements, and support committed young talent at Frankfurt's Goethe University through the Germany Scholarship.

Innovations are of great importance in the financial sector, and banks have a key role to play in the area of sustainability. We address important trends in various event formats. We are also actively involved in supporting business start-ups and innovation financing through our shareholdings in Bürgschaftsbank Hessen GmbH and MBGH Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hessen mbH.

Bankenverband Mitte is a member of the Association of German Banks, the umbrella organisation of the private banking industry in Germany.
