About us

Bankenverband Mitte e. V., based in Frankfurt am Main, represents the interests of private banks in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. More than 100 member institutions with almost 40,000 employees from major banks, regional banks, mortgage banks, private bankers and branches of foreign banks are affiliated to the association.

The focus of its work is the expansion and strengthening of Frankfurt as a financial centre. Furthermore, the Bankenverband Mitte represents the interests of its members vis-à-vis legislators and public institutions in the association's area. The association is also committed to economic education and the promotion of financial science and research. This includes further education programmes and training seminars for teachers in cooperation with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. For years, the Bankenverband Mitte has has been awarding outstanding academic achievements and supporting committed young talents at Frankfurt Goethe University through the Deutschlandstipendium.

It is also actively involved in supporting start-ups and innovation financing in Hesse. This is done through its holdings in Bürgschaftsbank Hessen GmbH and MBGH Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hessen mbH.

Bankenverband Mitte is a member of the Association of German Banks, the umbrella organisation of the private banking industry in Germany. Through close cooperation, it benefits from the expertise of a top economic association in numerous specialist areas. At the same time, it promotes the interests of its members throughout Germany and internationally via the Federal Association.
