Perspektiven auf die Omnibusverordnung
ESG Conference 2025 - Perspectives on the Omnibus Regulation
This year, we once again held a successful ESG conference together with the Center for Financial Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt - a format that has proven its worth over the years and which we are happy to continue. This year's edition focused on the omnibus initiative at EU level, which provides for various adjustments to frameworks for sustainability reporting, the taxonomy and the EU Due Diligence Act.
Following the introduction by Prof. Dr. Volker Brühl, Managing Director of the Center for Financial Studies, and Sarah Schmidtke, specialist presentations and discussions offered a wide range of perspectives - from the banking side to asset management and sustainability rating agencies:
- Sophia Weichelt (Commerzbank AG) shed light on ESG reporting using the CSRD,
- Dr. Thomas Uhlig (KPMG Law) gave an overview of the first omnibus package,
- Julian Trageser (Metzler Asset Management) presented the asset management perspective,
- Axel Wilhelm (EthiFinance Germany) contributed the perspective of a rating agency.
In the concluding discussion, it became clear that the Omnibus Regulation is not just a legal update, but a key issue for the strategic ESG orientation of the entire financial industry.
We would like to thank all speakers and participants for the lively exchange and look forward to continuing the format next year.
