Central Banking Association elects Stefan Bauz to the Board of Directors

The members' meeting of the Central Association of Banks has elected Stefan Bauz, Head of Private Clients Region South at Deutsche Bank AG, as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management. He will take office on April 26, 2024 and succeeds Matthias Buck, Head of Regional Strategy at Deutsche Bank AG, who is stepping down from the Board of Directors this year after four years of service.
The current Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mario Mattera, thanked Matthias Buck for his commitment and support over the past years.
In addition to Stefan Bauz, Matthias Bock, Managing Director and General Counsel at Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, and Sabrina Kensy, Divisional Board Member for Mittelstandsbank Central/East at Commerzbank AG, will remain Deputy Chairmen of the Board of Directors.
“I am looking forward to continuing the successful work of Matthias Buck together with my colleagues on the Board of Managing Directors and Sarah Schmidtke's team,” says Stefan Bauz.
Stefan Bauz started his career at Deutsche Bank in 1994. Immediately after completing his training, he pursued a dual study programme at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. His extensive sales expertise is rooted in his many years within the private customer business in Germany. He has also held various positions at the Group headquarter and worked on strategic projects during this time. Most recently, from 2021 to 2023, Stefan Bauz was responsible for sales promotion and development at the head office. In July 2023, he took over responsibility for the Southern Region in the private client business.
‘With Stefan Bauz, we have found an excellent successor who will also contribute our association's work through his mandate on the working committee. He has a great deal of experience in the private customer sector and has an extensive network in the region. I look forward to working with him on the Executive Board team in the future’, says Mario Mattera.
